About the role.

As a (Medior) Assistant Controller, you operate at the intersection of finance, reporting, and business. Within a finance-focused reporting team, you act as a key link between finance and the wider organization, ensuring accurate reporting while continuously improving financial processes and insights.

This is a broad and dynamic role within a commercially driven environment, where speed and data quality are essential. You will not only be responsible for delivering reliable financial information but also for translating this into clear insights that support operational and strategic direction.

  • What you are going to do?

    As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for a wide range of financial and reporting activities. Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting financial control activities and treasury-related processes;
  • Managing and reconciling financial positions within internal systems (ERP, CTRM-systems)
  • Processing and monitoring financial transactions, including bank and settlement activities;
  • Contributing to month-end closing and year-end reporting processes;
  • Managing external reporting obligations (stakeholders), such as reporting to banks, CBS, VAT;
  • Monitoring financial positions and risk-related metrics;
  • Developing and maintaining reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g. Power BI);
  • Identifying opportunities to improve working capital;
  • Contributing to automation and optimization of financial processes using tools such as RPA Python.

    What does our client expect from you?

    For this Assistant Controller position, we are looking for a driven finance professional who combines analytical strength with strong communication skills. You bring:

  • A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration/Management;
  • Approximately a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience;
  • Strong professional skills, including clear communication, ownership, teamwork and a proactive mindset, combined with analytical thinking, leadership, financial awareness and customer orientation;
  • Knowledge of tools such as Excel, BI tools (e.g. Power BI), and automation solutions (e.g. Python or RPA)
  • Experience or affinity with financial systems, reporting tools, and data analysis;
  • Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).
